She wants the one she can't have, and it's driving her mad.

Jealousy is a stinky cologne, and Dawn is swimming in it like an outhouse fish. She saw the OoGhiJ MIQtxxXA in action and wanted one of her own (except with a quieter case). Then her laptop, the previous reigning champion of computing power in our household, committed ritual harddriveocide, and she really wanted her own über computer. So on Monday she ordered the parts, and was pleased that, although she ordered essentially the exact same computer that I did, Dawn's bill came out to be around $500 less than mine. Then the parts came in the mail and she started putting it together until... Oh no! Where's the video card? She knew she ordered one. Curiously, her order history showed a large, video card-shaped hole where her video card used to be, and she was unable to find the product anywhere on NewEgg.com. It seemed to have been deleted from this plane of existence. So Dawn, not being a terribly patient person, settled for the "same" card made by MSI. She expects it to arrive on Monday. Meanwhile, I visited my own order history at NewEgg.com and found that the BFG video card that I ordered (which is slightly faster than its MSI counterpart) was still on the list, although it was described as "Out of stock." No matter, really. I already have mine, but Dawn probably could have had one of her own if she had waited a few days. So I say...
...to Dawn. But the plot thickens. I compared my card's stats to hers, and it turns out that her card will come bundled with a full install of the King Kong video game. Ultimately, the joke's on me, 'cause all I got was this lousy t-shirt.

It's working! It's working!

Say goodbye to your old desktop. Gentlemen, I give you the OoGhiJ MIQtxxXA!
I didn't mention this before, but the guts of this thing are really impressive. It has an AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 512 MB of video RAM. I can run Galaxies and Warcraft simultaneously, and simply Alt-Tab between Dantooine and the Alterac Mountains. Photoshop starts up within seconds. 3D Studio Max renders each frame at the speed of thought. I expect that this computer may achieve sentience within the next year, so you loyal readers out there may want to start digging the foundations of your bomb shelters now if you want any chance at surviving the coming Apocalypse long enough to get an autograph from a real live T-800. It has only one drawback: every time it starts up, the case's built-in speakers play a short but loud sound clip of a revving engine. Dawn hates it, especially on the day that it locked up and played the Aphex Twin remix of the revving engine without ever stopping. Fortunately for me, with my fondness for obnoxiously loud toys, the novelty has not yet worn off.

The lava's the lover who licks your boots away

Right now I'm romping around on Mustafar with a couple of guildies. The lava looks like shit and the skiff is fucking slower than molasses in January.
