“The 12-string Martin D12X1 acoustic guitar represents a fine example Martin’s commitment to preserving the earth’s dwindling resources and designing guitars that are within reach of every aspiring guitarist. Constructed with a combination of highly compressed wood fibers (high-pressure laminate, HPL) and traditional tonewoods, the D12X1 has the famous Martin sound and playability found in their more expensive guitars.”
— Musician’s Friend
This is one of the low-end Martin models, but it still has that nice, bright, glassy Martin sound, and it sounded better than any other twelve string acoustic on the showroom floor. Once again, on top of buying a used model, I still got a hell of a deal for it at Cream City Music.

I’ve had a Lace California pickup installed and a Schaller locking strap button added to the neck joint.
This week, I bought a handful of hippie peacenik stickers to plaster all over the front. It was, after all, a cheap guitar. Might as well make a statement with it.

I finally got around to applying the stickers. When I peeled the pickguard off, it revealed a tan line. How scandalous!
